Now that Circuit City is closing down does anybody know if the prices of the items are lower/how much lower?

Ryan S asked:

Specifically, I was thinking about buying the Rock Band 2 drum kit for the Wii and I’ve been looking around for a discounted price

according to circuitcity.com, closing sales start as early as January 17 (tomorrow)

does anybody know if any items will be discounted? if so, buy how much?

Like in many retail bankruptcies they will begin marking everything down maybe 5 to 30%. Then over time increase that to 40%, then 45-50%, and so on. The longer the time goes, the lower the inventory gets.

So if one thinks they will get a 50″ LCD or plasma at 75% their are smoking something.

    Happy Shopping.

The very first thing they do is INCREASE the prices to the suggested retail price. Then they start marking them down anywhere from 10% up until there’s nothing left but the furnishings. I would go early for things that are already selling for their suggested retail price.

You may want to look else where for deals. What I have seen is they usually jack up the prices before they start discounting it to make it look like your getting a deal, and your really not. Check other stores first.
