Wal-mart employee discount for each item?

gameboydylan asked:

I was looking around Wal-mart for the Wii stuff and for the system, a extra controller + nunchuks, a charger station, and a game will cost just about $400. Can I use my employee discount for 10% off each item, or is it 10% off the total price?

Either way you would pay the same amount total whether you bought the items all at once or one at a time. 10% is 10%.

I think it would be 40% off the entire purchase….that’s how it usually works.

You would receive 10% off the price listed on the shelf label (the discount does not apply towards sales tax). It would not matter if you bought each item individually or in one purchase. If the total - before taxes- is about $400.00, then your discount would be about $40.00 (10% of $400.00). Then the sales tax would be added on and your total with taxes (depending upon what the sales tax rate is in your area) would be slightly less than $400.00. You WOULD NOT receive 40% off the total purchase as one of the previous posters has suggested. Hope this helps!

Yes, you would recieve 10% of the total price before taxes which would be about $40.00. Here is how you can apply you dicount online.

I was a Wa-Mart associate and helped many people with when I worked in electronics. What you do is on the wal-mart.com page search associate discount and it comes up with a page to enter your Associate ID Number (usually your SSN.) Then Associate Card Number (printed on front of card). From there your going to sign-in and link your card to you. Keep in mind when you want to buy something you have to re-enter your card number when you process the order. Follow the link to help you out.
